Homemade treats & Favorite foods
this is a super long post.....
.
So my Grandma Lorraine got us this wonderful book, if you want more information, click the book.
Mommy made two different recipes from the book.
First we made Dog Biscuits Baked with Love, page 8
2 cups ubleached wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
pinch of salt
1 egg
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
3/4 cup chicken broth
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. mix the flour, cornmeal, and salt in one bowl
3. in a seperate and larger bowl, whip the egg with the oil, parsley, and chicken broth. Add the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough and roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into canine-pleasing shapes, such as cats, cars, and fire hydrants.
5. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool the biscuits before serving.
Mommy subsituted the flour for this gluten free flour.
Mommy cooks good food, but is a so-so baker, she made two MISTAKES!!!! First she added 1 cup chicken broth instead of 3/4 cup, so she decided to add more GF flour, so the bicuits could have come out better, but boy are they still good. Then she forgot to cut the dough into shapes before she baked them, so could only cut them into squares after they were cooked.
Like I said THEY ARE GOOD!!!!
Then mommy also made Fruity Pup-Sicles, page 23. She didn't follow the exact measurements, she always likes to experiment. She made just enough to fill one ice cube tray, incase I didn't like it.
1 quart orange juice
1 banana
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1. Mix all the ingredients in a container with a spout. Pour the blend into empty ice cube trays.
2. Store in the freezer until you want to serve up a treat.
I was really tired so I would only eat it if she held it for me. Man am I spoiled.

Just a wee bit hungry now. I wonder if we even have flour in the house! I never get any food. I always have to go out on the street and beg for it. Last week, I had to play the pan flute and dance, just to scrape together a few rusty nickles to buy two tiny bits of dried up old kibble. I'm starving. YOur mom has to send me food (although maybe not the frosty stuff because it would melt). I might not make it through another day.
