Well at least I get to go to the vet, they all know me and LOVE ME. How could they not!

Daddy can't pick me up till Tuesday, which means mommy won't see me till Tuesday afternoon after she gets home. She's sad and feeling guilty, but you know what that means........ sympathy toys, treats, and food.

Boy, I'm gonna have a lot of blogs to catch up on!

Create a Caption Game

For this week we're using a pic of Joe Stains and his friend Roger. We have so much fun looking for interesting and funny photos of our DWB friends.

I am glad we decided to let Daddy pick the winner each week, boy it was a hard decision for daddy~they're all so good! I would not AND could not choose between my friends. Daddy doesn't know any of the doggies so he doesn't feel bad choosing only one dog, he just reads the captions and chooses the best one, in his opinion. Mommy and me think they're all great.

Remember to check the sidebar each week to see previous caption games and the winners.

How would "I" change a light bulb?

Tosca started a cool game, answer the following joke. How would a dog change a light bulb? Well I think that as a Frenchie I would wouldn't even notice, because I would be too busy playing with my mommy and daddy. When mommy and daddy do finally change the light bulb I would be following them around with a toy in my mouth until they are done and can play with me again.

Tagged, tagged, and tagged

I've been tagged a lot of times, I'm glad it's a good tag and nothing dangerous like cooties. hee hee

Suki tagged me to tell about more of my favorite foods. Since I already told you my favorite foods, now I'm gonna tell about the foods that mommy eats that I LOVE!!!!!

1. meatloaf

2. chicken parm

3. steak
4. cheese
5. popcorn
.
.
.

Agatha & Archie and Hercules tagged me to tell what my middle name means. Hercules was VERY CLEAR about the rules, so I will listen to him and post the rules.

1. Post the rules before you give the facts. (Listen up Pups, these are the Rules!!)

2. List one fact that is somehow relevant to you and your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. When you are tagged you need to write your post using your middle name and facts about it.

4. At the end of your post choose one dog to tag for each letter of your middle name. Be sure to let each puppy know she/he has been tagged. I'm not sure who has been tagged, so I tag EVERYBODY!!!!!!

I don't have a middle name, so instead I'm gonna use the name mommy always calls me. Bubalah, it's a term of endearment in Hebrew, I don't know why she doens't use a term of endearment in Italian? Mommy is weird, what can I say.

Homemade treats & Favorite foods

this is a super long post.....
.
So my Grandma Lorraine got us this wonderful book, if you want more information, click the book.

Mommy made two different recipes from the book.

First we made Dog Biscuits Baked with Love, page 8
2 cups ubleached wheat flour
1 cup cornmeal
pinch of salt
1 egg
3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
3/4 cup chicken broth

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees
2. mix the flour, cornmeal, and salt in one bowl
3. in a seperate and larger bowl, whip the egg with the oil, parsley, and chicken broth. Add the flour mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.
4. Knead the dough and roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to cut the dough into canine-pleasing shapes, such as cats, cars, and fire hydrants.
5. Bake for 15 minutes. Cool the biscuits before serving.

Mommy subsituted the flour for this gluten free flour.

Mommy cooks good food, but is a so-so baker, she made two MISTAKES!!!! First she added 1 cup chicken broth instead of 3/4 cup, so she decided to add more GF flour, so the bicuits could have come out better, but boy are they still good. Then she forgot to cut the dough into shapes before she baked them, so could only cut them into squares after they were cooked.

Like I said THEY ARE GOOD!!!!

Then mommy also made Fruity Pup-Sicles, page 23. She didn't follow the exact measurements, she always likes to experiment. She made just enough to fill one ice cube tray, incase I didn't like it.

1 quart orange juice
1 banana
1/2 cup plain yogurt

1. Mix all the ingredients in a container with a spout. Pour the blend into empty ice cube trays.
2. Store in the freezer until you want to serve up a treat.

I was really tired so I would only eat it if she held it for me. Man am I spoiled.

.
.
.
Goofy tagged me to tell about my favorite foods so....
My favorite foods are:
1. cheese
2. peanut butter in my kong
3. homemade biscuits
4. any type of meat or chicken

1. wine and cheese
2. COFFEE, COFFEE, COFFEE
3. chocolate
4. sushi
5. big HUGE salad with bacon, eggs, mozzerella cheese, etc.....
.
.
Not sure who else has been tagged, but I'm gonna tag Fig, Tad, and Seadra and Zoe.

Rainy and Bored

I've decided I really really really like my bed and have listened to mommy and have not eaten or destroyed it.

Don't think I'm a momma's boy and all, I know when a bed is comfortable and all. I'm still a tough dude!

There was a noise outside and I got startled and didn't realize my lip was curled up in my mouth. Mommy thought it was funny. Hey, try all you want, with my curled lip I'm even more handsome, right Fig?

Just sitting here watching TV with my parents. When its just us, we push the two couches together so we can all cuddle up, or atleast until daddy and mommy start working their different shifts again

Don't worry, I got some popcorn, I always get what I want.

Oooooh, how come you're feet smell nice and daddy's feet stink worse than old poop?

After watching a lot of TV, eating a lot of popcorn, and having long conversations with my parents I started getting tired.

Hmmm, this seems like a comfy spot.

Even though you have stinky feet, I love you daddy.

New Bed and a Bully Stick

I got a new bed, it's really comfy, fluffy, and made of terry cloth. Meanie mommy won't let me chew on it.

She said its just for sleeping, HMPH! It's MY bed I should be able to do whatever I want to it! As soon as she's not looking I gonna tear it apart.

Daddy was playing with me in my new bed, I was happy, I love my daddy AND look ~ no stinky feet!

.
.
.
.

So I finally got a bully stick. Can you believe it?

Mommy says it smells like pee pee, but I love it. Is it supposed to get all foamy when you chew on it?

Feeling better

Thank you all for your concern about my ears and kind words to mommy about not being a terrible mommy. Karen here: I sometimes forget that here at DWB we all understand each other and no one makes fun of each other. In my world I'm seen as "neurotic", "crazy", or "need to get a hobby". So thank you for making me feel normal.

My ear is much better and the rash is gone. The vet said if my ear hurts again or if I get a rash any place else they may have to discuss other treatments and see what might be causing all the rashes (next to my ear and a few others on my belly).

Toby asked what funny noises I make and Fee asked to see a video of my funny breathing noises...... Sherman, Lola, and Penny's mom might even adopt a Frenchie one day, well maybe not after she sees this......

Me playing with Ray, the TV's loud but you can still hear my "fun growling" and heavy breathing.

Me relaxing and cooling down on the AC vent, (5 minutes of running around with hedgehog balls wears a frenchie out!) .
Mommy still needs to get a video of me running after my hedgehog balls, she says I have about twenty different types of snorts!

After all that playing I'm worn out, I need a nap.

ALL ABOUT FRENCH BULLDOGS

So Sparky tagged me tell all about French Bulldogs (AKA Frenchies, Frog Dogs)

A SHORT History: In the 19 century the bulldog was popular in England. The smaller bulldogs with erect ears were not as popular in England, but the French women were fond of these dogs. Soon this toy bulldog became the "fad" in Paris and eventually all the upper class homes in France had to have a "Bouledogue Francais". American visitors were immediately smitten with the dog, soon several dogs were brought back and bred in America. By 1913 we were one of the most popular breeds in America. Thankfully those French women had enough sense to realize how wonderful and important we truly are.

Temperment: We are known as clowns in a lap dog. We are very people oriented and crave attention. Frenchies need to be a member of the family and given lots of love. We are loving, sweet, playful, cuddly, and absolutely hilarious. We get along with mostly everyone, since we thrive on human attention, but sometimes we bond to one very special person. We can not survive without human attention and love. We can not and will not be ignored, we will make outrageous noises or stare until we are given the attention we deserve. I personally lay on my side and make deep sighing noises until I get a belly rub or kiss.

We are protective too ~ well kind of..... it's often known that Frenchies will bark and growl if someone is knocking at the door or lurking outside, but once inside the barking will turn to whines and whimpers of "PLAY WITH ME". Frenchies want to be friends with everyone! Hey, my rule is if someone comes into my house, they must play with me, or leave!

Some males or females can be aggressive, but mostly we all get along fine. We do not bark unless there is a reason. Some of us slobber or drool, but the majority don't. Some of us do well with training and some of us don't. We need lots of love and positive encouragement. We are also known as ruthles hunters of mice. That must be why I always want to chase and kill ants, spiders, birds, and squirrels.

Height and Weight: We are about 12 inches tall give or take a few inches. We can weigh anywhere from 19-about 30 pounds. I personally weigh about 25 pounds, I'm all muscles, wink, wink, kiss, kiss Fig.

Health Problems: We tend to have eye and respiratory problems. Because of our squshed in faces we have trouble breathing, we may wheeze, snore, and make lots of funny grunting noises. I make funny noises all the time, but after a few about ten minutes of hard play I need to chill out and drink water.

Living Conditions: We are sensitive to temperature extremes, overheating can cause heat stroke. We perfer cooler climates, but not too cool. I'm like mommy and wish it was fall all year round.

Exercise: We should NOT be exercised in hot weather, but we LOVE to run and play,we can play for hours. Some of us are really hyper and others of us are lazy, I tend to be a little of both. I HATE the heat and HATE the snow. When I get REALLY Hot from playing I know to sit on the central air vents and cool off. Luckily mommy plays with me inside with the centrail air when its SUPER HOT.

Did I leave anything out, my fellow Frenchie Bernard?

AAAARGGGGHHH!

So, while we were waiting for our cable to get back on, lots of things are going on..........

1. We can't keep the computer in the second bedroom, the cable split doesn't work in out stupid condo complex, so mommy has to put the computer back in the living room. SHE HATES IT IN THERE, she says it looks cheap and destroys all her hard work and money to fix up the condo.

By the way, do you see? I have my own wall of photos!!!!!

2. There are people building things in our complex, we can see them from the porch. They make lots of noise and I don't like them. It's not a great pic, but can you see the car and all the wood?

I must sit on my mommy's lap and watch everything they do. I have to make sure they don't try to come on my porch, or I will have to do to them what I did to the evil leaf.

3. Mommy was forced to clean the house (ABOUT TIME) since she couldn't do any of her boring work, and I got tons of peanut butter in my kong. OH YEAH!!!!!

4. Mommy also took me to the vet, my ears have been very itchy. I don't have an ear infection but they are a little gooey, then the vet said I may have mange since there is also a rash near my ear. OR it could be a sympton of another problem. There are also a few red spots on my belly, mommy always thought they were irritations from me rubbing against the carpet.

Can you see the rash near my ear? I hope Fig still finds me attractive.

Karen here: I feel like an awful, neglectful mother. I take very good care of Balboa and the thought that he has mange, I feel so guilty. I am thinking that it is mange because the thought that is a symptom of something else is just to scary. I have to continue putting a special ointment in his ear and on the rash. If it doesn't heal in a few days, they want us to come back in.

Create a Caption Thursday

UPDATE!!!!

Our cable is STILL OUT, but hopefully will be fixed by Thursday night.

1. cable guy can't come till Thursday afternoon. SO were gonna post the caption game today because we don't want to miss a game. WE ARE USING A FRIENDS COMPUTER AND CAN'T CHECK ALL YOUR BLOGS, HOPEFULLY WE WILL BE ABLE TO DO TAHT SOON!

2. Mommy is not very smart and messed up, the winner of the last week's game is RUBY,

Suki, mommy is VERY VERY VERY SORRY, for the misprint!

I am glad we decided to let Daddy pick the winner each week. I would not AND could not choose between my friends. Daddy doesn't know any of the doggies so he doesn't feel bad choosing only one dog, he just reads the captions and chooses the best one, in his opinion.

Mommy and me think they're all great

Hiding & Bobbing for Balls

Can you see me?
.
.
.

Can you see me now? Sometimes I feel safe hiding under the bed. Plus if an intruder, like that evil leaf, tries to come in the house I can sneak attack them!

.
.
.

LOOK WHAT HAPPENED! Mommy was throwing the hedgehog ball (my favorite toy), and it ended up in my water bowl AGAIN!

I tried to get it out, but it kept bobbing around in the water. So mommy had to get it out for me. It was all wet and the squeaky made a funny sound, IT WAS AWESOME!

Chillin', Playin', Sleepin', and Eatin'

Sometimes daddy and I just chill on the bed and watch TV

Or we daddy chills while I nibble on his hand or my toys

Other times he TORTURES ME. You all remember the first video of daddy assaulting me with his STINKY FEET. Well it happened again!

WATCH AT YOUR OWN RISK!

When daddy's not around and mommy's on the computer doing BORING WORK, I watch her from the bed. Watching her type and type and type makes me very tired and I need to find the PERFECT and COMFY spot to sleep.

PLus once I'm asleep I get to dream of my beautiful girlfriend Fig.

~~~~~
~~~~~
~~~~~
Mommy had to make more food, just watching her makes me soooo HUNGRY!!!! Here's the meat just after its boiled and drained, mmmmmm
all the other ingredients after after being baked, mmmmmmmmmm
Can you see the delicious chunks of carrots, beans, potatoes, string beans and corn?
OOOOH, now look how yummy it is all mixed together!!!
Is that all for me? OOOOOOOH!
If you want this recipe or other delicious recipes check out the DWB tried and tested reicpe page
Playing and pictures
Ray and Carol came up the other day, My mommy and her mommy went shopping, so I got to stay back with Ray. Yup we guys hung out together (daddy was at work), what did Ray and I do? Well we played, ate some carrots and biscuits, and slept.
Here's a pic of Ray and Carol looking out the porch window, do they see an evil leaf too?
It's not a picture worth taking unless I'm in it.
Here's a video of my playing with socks. Even though my favorite toy is the hedgehog ball, I do love socks, especially when mommy puts toys in them or ties them up together ~ what a joy!
Create a Caption Game
For this week's caption I'm using a picture of Seadra & Zoe.
We decided that the best and most fair way was to let daddy pick the winner each week. He'll make his decision on Wednesday evenings. The winner and their caption will be added to the added to the sidebar when the new picture is posted each week
